Happy New Year!

It was good to get back to MA and spend time with my family, but I was really missing home - and missing BP big time.  Christmas came and went and it was time for me to get in the car and get back home.  Normally it takes me around 9 hours - it ended up taking me 13 hours.  Well this was the LONGEST car ride.  I knew I would hit some traffic, but this was insane.  Luckily, I called BP every couple of hours and he kept me sane while I was stuck in the horrendous traffic. Finally I got back home - and my bed was like heaven that night.

2 days of work, which really wasn't much since it was a short work week and a lot of people were out of town for the holiday.  And then it was time for the long weekend with BP, and we were having our Christmas together, or what we referred to as Christmas Part 2.  We are like 2 peas in a pod when we are together - and we both couldn't wait to give our gifts to each other.  We had a weekend full of plans and hanging out with friends.  Perfect weekend - and we got to bake together.  I did miss my favorite sous.  What to bake?  We needed something easy and quick to bring to his friends house to watch the football game.  It came down to cookies or brownies.  We settled on brownies, and the cutest response came from BP 'We don't have any box mix'.  I looked at him and smiled and replied 'Trust me, we don't need a box mix.  And after you have these brownies you will never want a box mix again'.

Walnut Brownies
I love the smell of brownies baking in the oven.  Seriously one of the best scents ever.  BP couldn't get over how good they smelled.  Time came for us to leave, and of course we had to try one for "quality control".  BP was floored at how good they were, and his friends were impressed as well.  The next day was a lazy day of hanging out and watching movies together.  Nothing better than snuggling up on the couch and watching movies.

2012 was a huge turning point in my life for me.  Filled with ups and downs, taking a huge risk in moving away and starting over.  Things have a way of working out the way they are supposed to.  I've never been so happy and can't wait to see what 2013 has in store.  Wishing you a very Happy New Year!!
